Synthetic rubber based hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive
Synthetic rubber based hot melt adhesives are suitable for the construction of tapes and labels and offer the following advantages:
Ø Fast, high-strength bonding;
Ø Ability to bond high surface energy and low surface energy substrates;
ØExcellent performance in high humidity environment.
Additionally, hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives allow converters to use higher coat weights than other options if desired. They can also be formulated for chiller grades and refrigeration applications. They have excellent tack and peel properties, which add to their switching flexibility. Therefore, hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives can bond to rough and smooth surfaces.
Acrylic water-based pressure sensitive adhesive
Another adhesive technology is acrylic water-based adhesives. These pressure sensitive adhesives offer the following advantages:
ØExcellent adhesion to polar substrates;
Ø Maintain good transparency;
Ø Resistant to extreme environmental conditions.
Acrylic water-based pressure sensitive adhesives can be used in a wide temperature range and under adverse conditions depending on the formulation. They can also provide UV resistance and some chemical resistance, helping converters more easily meet certain end-use application requirements. Additionally, acrylic water-based pressure sensitive adhesives can be formulated to be residue-free and ideal for surface protection and demountable applications.
